I struggled a lot in Turn 4 because of the wind,” Quartararo explained. “I made a mistake there at the beginning of the race and after the second, I tried to push but was too far behind. A lot can change during these last events, so as long as we can stay focused, we can make the best of these final races. Enjoying them will be important because when I do, I can be fast!

Morbidelli struggled and showers spoiled an opportunity to make setup changes during Warm Up. He had a cautious race start but found a good rhythm, overtaking Raul Fernandez for P18 with seven laps remaining. They started to battle but it was cut short when Morbidelli crashed on lap 22. Although unscathed, he was unable to rejoin the race.

I started from behind, struggled to recover positions, and unfortunately crashed,” Morbidelli said. “I didn’t have the speed but there was good potential. We struggled to put it all together here but will try again in Malaysia.
