Unfortunate End for Team ENEOS at 2026 Czech MotoGP

Although Team ENEOS had high hopes for a successful result at the 2026 Monster Energy Grand Prix of Czechia, it unfortunately ended in a double BC score. Álex Rins fell back to P18 before retiring with four laps remaining, and Fabio Quartararo was running P13 before crashing at Turn 8 on lap 2.

Rins started from P17 and held the position during the opening stages. When his teammate crashed out, the Spaniard moved briefly up to P16 until engaging in battles on laps 5 and 6, falling back to P18 on lap 17 due to a bike malfunction. He opted to retire from the Race a lap later.

“I retired from the race because of a malfunction that made the riding unpredictable,” Rins said. “I had a big gap to the rider behind but I wanted to avoid risking anything dangerous since we’re always riding on the limit, so I decided to return to the box.”

El Diablo fell back at the start, dropping down to P13 again after the opening lap. However, a crash in Turn 8 on the second lap ended his run early, and although he was unhurt, he was unable to resume the race.

“I didn’t have a great start,” Quartararo said. “I lost some positions and overtook while it lasted, unfortunately it was only 1.5-laps.”
