Although the 2026 Grand Prix of Brazil was shortened to 23 laps due to track degradation, it didn’t make the competition any less challenging for Team ENEOS. Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP riders Alex Rins and Fabio Quartararo finished the Race in P14 and P16 respectively.
Rins was on the move from the start of the Race, launching from P17 on the grid and up to P11 at the midway stage, but lost some momentum to finish P14, 22.699sec from first.
“I had really low grip even though the overall race was nice,” Rins said. “We did what we could and picked up two points. Not the best but there were some good overtakes.”
Starting from P4 on the grid, Quartararo struggled immediately due to poor rear grip. This lack of traction prevented him from moving up the order, causing him to gradually fall back. El Diablo ultimately crossed the finish line in P16, 26.403sec behind the race winner.
“We had issues with rear grip and planned to go with a soft rear regardless of the race length,” Quartararo said. “Although it didn’t feel quite right, I really enjoyed competing at this circuit.”
Following the Brazil race, Quartararo is joint 15th place in the Championship standings with six points, while Rins is joint 18th place with three points. Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP are ninth in the team championship with nine points, and Yamaha is fifth in the manufacturer rankings with eight points.
