Team ENEOS Struggles for Top 16 Finish at 2025 MotoGP Austria

The 28-lap Grand Prix of Austria proved to be a demanding competition for Team ENEOS. Both Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins fought hard throughout the Race but could only finish P15 and P16 respectively.

El Diablo hoped to repeat his Sprint start but kicked things off from P16, moving up to P14 briefly on the opening lap but fell to P18 by lap five after several battles with other riders. Aside from Jack Miller overtaking him on lap 13, it was a lonely ride for the Frenchman. After Jorge Martin crashed out and Fabio Di Giannantonio suffering a mechanical issue, Quartararo crossed the finish line in P15, 25.256sec from the leader.

I didn’t have a good feeling in the Race — I overtook Jack, and that’s it,” said Quartararo. “There was less grip for the Race compared to the Sprint, but we’re ready to build from here and take steps forward.

It was tough to do better in terms of lap times, so it was hard to fight,” Rins said. “If we had to focus on improving one thing, it’s qualifying so we can have a better start. We need more consistency in qualifying before we can attack the race properly.

Rins started well from P17 but went wide in the first corner and slotted in P20. He briefly reached P16 before completing the first lap in 17th battling with Miller, then lost two more positions in the early lap battles. Trailing his teammate, he followed Quartararo past Miller on lap 16, shifting up to P16 with eight laps remaining. He held the spot to the checkered flag, 30.316sec from first.

It was a productive but tough race,” said Rins. “Productive because changing your riding style during a GP isn’t easy but thanks to the team I was able to do it since it doesn’t come naturally.
