Team ENEOS Finishes Top 15 at 2026 MotoGP Thailand Opening Race
Team ENEOS riders Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins battled the intense heat of the 26-lap Grand Prix of Thailand MotoGP Race to secure top-15 finishes, crossing the checkered flag in P14 and P15, respectively.
Starting from P16, Quartararo initially gained a position but later dropped to 17th on lap 10 after facing pressure from Franco Morbidelli and Enea Bastianini. El Diablo ultimately benefited from three late retirements from his rivals to hold 14th place at the finish line, 30.823sec from the winner. Quartararo said, “It was a tough race, but a bit of what we expected. Hopefully we will feel better with the bike in Brazil.”
Rins began the race from P18 and completed the first lap in P16, riding near his fellow Yamaha riders for most of the Race. He was in P18 before also capitalizing on late misfortunes of competitors, securing P15 at the checkered flag, 32.955sec behind the race winner.
“It was a really tough race, and very difficult to manage the tires,” Rins said. “I gave it my all on every lap, and now we leave Thailand after pre-season testing and the main Race with some good data.”
Following the first race of 2026, Quartararo is 16th in the championship standings with two points and Rins 17th with a point. In the team standings, Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP is ninth with three points, while Yamaha ranks fifth in the manufacturer standings with two points.
