Steve Arpin Returns to Podium in ARX of Gateway Double-Header

ENEOS-sponsored Loenbro Motorsports driver Steve Arpin took his second consecutive podium in Saturday’s Americas Rallycross of Gateway final: the second race of the 2019 ARX season and first leg of the series’ first-ever double-header.

Arpin took the holeshot and led a majority of Saturday’s final, coming tantalizingly close to his fourth major professional rallycross main event win in the #00 cbdMD / ENEOS Ford Fiesta ST.

“I’m so stoked about how quick we’ve been in this ARX season,” said Arpin. “Going up against factory cars with our privateer team, our results are a testament to the amazing people we have in the Loenbro Motorsports shop. We’re still gunning for the top step of the podium and we’re determined to get there before the end of the season. It would be amazing if we can do it next time out at Trois-Rivieres, as I know I’ll have the Canadian fans on my side!”

Arpin and rookie teammate Travis PeCoy each made both finals of the double-header at the World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway. As the newest facility on the series schedule it earned rave reviews from drivers for its layout and fast dirt sections. PeCoy persevered through a number of challenging situations with other competitors.

With three of six rounds in the championship complete, Arpin is embroiled in an intense battle for the championship title. Arpin sits just three points from second place, and 15 off the overall lead.

NEXT ROUND

Arpin will all return to action on August 3-4 at Grand Prix Trois-Rivieres – the only Canadian round of the season. Loenbro Motorsports finished third in last year’s ARX Supercar final at the Quebec street circuit with driver Ken Block.
