Rins Rallies for P11 Finish at 2025 MotoGP Aragon Spain

Team ENEOS demonstrated its fighting spirit at MotorLand Aragón for the Grand Prix of Aragón, as Álex Rins performed strong during the second half of the 23-lap Race to finish 11th. Teammate Fabio Quartararo had another disastrous event when he crashed on lap 13.

Starting from P15, Rins made up a position on the opening lap, then battled in a busy part of the midpack, dropping down to P18 on lap 5 but regaining a position shortly after. Crashing rivals allowed him to move up to P14 over the next few laps, and from there Rins became stronger as the race went on, overtaking more riders and completing multiple fast laps with good pace. A crash by Maverick Viñales with four laps remaining allowed Rins to shift up to P11 during his final push to the finish line, where he finished 19.646sec from first.

I struggled during the first half of the race but was able to ride super fast during the last portion,” said Rins. “We need to fix this so I can be faster in the opening stages.

Quartararo started from P9, settling into eighth after the opening corners but lost a position to complete the first lap in ninth. The Frenchman kept charging riders at bay in the early stages until Joan Mir and Viñales passed him on laps 8 and 9, pushing him down to P11. He then had a relatively lonely race until lap 12 when Brad Binder crashed out, allowing him to join the top 10 briefly. Brief because soon after Quartararo suffered an unlucky crash himself, ending his race early.

The grip was improving because of the rubber on the track but every time I tried to push harder, I’d lose the front,” Quartararo explained. “It’s time for us to figure out what’s happening so we can improve and go faster.
