Quartararo With P8 Finish at 2025 Qatar MotoGP
Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins of Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP focused on tire management during the 2025 Qatar Grand Prix, finishing the race in eighth and 13th, respectively for Team ENEOS. Following a post-race penalty for Maverick Viñales, their positions were adjusted to seventh and 12th.

Quartararo, starting from P3, was pushed back to ninth after avoiding a collision between the Marquez brothers in the first corner. El Diablo moved back to eighth by lap 6 but briefly dropped to ninth before regaining a position due to a penalty by Alex Marquez. After being passed by Marquez again on lap 11, Quartararo overtook Pedro Acosta with seven laps remaining, maintaining eighth place to the finish, 12.895sec behind the leader.
“The first laps were difficult since I was blocked by other riders, but the tire drop was OK, so that was good,” explained Quartararo. “I gave maximum effort to finish P8.”

Rins started well from P9 but found himself in a tight mid-pack battle. Settling into 14th, he remained within 0.7sec of the riders between sixth and 19th. After battling with Enea Bastianini and Ai Ogura, Rins overtook Ogura for 14th with five laps left. He then passed Brad Binder on the final lap’s last sector, securing 13th place, 17.563sec behind the winner.
“This was a tough race since I was hit by a stone in the middle of the straight on lap 7,” Rins said. “That really hurt, to the point I thought about going into the box because it was so painful. But I stuck with it and gave it my all, even though I was stuck behind Ogura and was finally lucky enough to overtake him and pass Binder at the last corners to finish P13.”
Following the Qatar GP, Quartararo is now eighth in the overall standings with 30 points, and Rins is 16th with 14 points. Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP ranks 5th in the team championship with 44 points, while Yamaha holds joint-4th in the manufacturer championship with 42 points.
