Quartararo Rides to P8 Finish at 2025 MotoGP San Marino

It was a tough outing for Team ENEOS at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for the 2025 MotoGP San Marino Race: Fabio Quartararo defended his position well against his rivals, ultimately settling for a P8 finish, while teammate Álex Rins crashed out after two long-lap penalties, riding in P15.

Starting from P3, El Diablo completed the opening lap in P4, and the early stages of the Race were similar to his Sprint, fighting for fourth as he was unable to stay with the leading group. He tried to hold his position as long as possible but dropped down to P8 after lap 15, where it then became a lonely ride for the Frenchman. Quartararo pushed to the finish line holding eighth place, 20.964sec from the race winner.

I didn’t have the pace to fight with the others after trying so hard to stay with the front pack,” Quartararo said. “For the last 12 laps I kept an easy, consistent pace.

Rins had a more difficult day at the office, starting from P18 on the grid, dropping to P19 on the opening lap when he received a double long-lap penalty for a jump start. The Spaniard powered through and was within reach of points riding in P15 when a crash on lap 10 suddenly ended his race.

After the two long laps I tried to recover and ride more smoothly on the lines, but I entered fast going into corner 10,” Rins explained. “I didn’t think I was going to crash but I lost the front and the Race was over, which is a shame because I was feeling good despite all the chaos.

Following the San Marino Race, Quartararo is P9 in the overall standings with 137 points while Rins holds P19 with 45 points. Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP is sixth in the team championship with 182 points, and Yamaha retains fifth in the manufacturer championship with 168 points.
