Quartararo Lands P7 at 2026 MotoGP Germany
The 2026 MotoGP Grand Prix of Germany demanded a careful balance between pace and tire preservation for Team ENEOS as the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP riders Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins navigated these challenges to finish P7 and P14, respectively.
Starting from P6 on the grid, El Diablo dropped to P9 during a competitive opening lap. He gained ground by lap nine, moving into P7 after two rivals crashed out. Over the remaining 20 laps, he maintained a consistent rhythm to cross the finish line in P7, 17.560sec behind the winner.
“I had a few moments on the opening lap: nearly crashed in Turn 3, then I touched with [Jorge] Martín in Turn 5, but I’m not complaining, it’s part of racing,” said Quartararo. “But we exited badly from Turn 7 and three rivals overtook me there, and then I remained in that same position for the remainder of the race. P7 is a good result.”
Rins, who launched from P17, ended the first lap in P18 but steadily improved his position as others faced misfortune. By lap nine, he reached P14 and spent the rest of the race chasing Franco Morbidelli, eventually finishing 31.511sec from first.
“If we could do it all over, I would’ve pushed more in the middle part of the race to stay with [Franco] Morbidelli because I was thinking of taking care of my tires through the end of the race,” Rins said. “But by the end my tires were all used up, so at least I would have been able to stay with him”
