Quartararo Finishes P4 at 2025 MotoGP Germany

It was survival of the fittest for Team ENEOS at the 2025 German MotoGP Race, and despite perfectly dry riding conditions at the Sachsenring, riders were caught out by the tricky nature of the circuit, especially at the notorious Turn 1 — only ten of the 18 riders made it to the checkered flag. Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins survived by riding flawlessly and were rewarded with a P4 and P10 finish respectively.

Quartararo and Rins moved up a position on the starting grid after Franco Morbidelli retired following a crash during the Sprint, starting the 30-lap Race from P6 and P16 respectively.

The Frenchman lost positions during the first few corners, settling into eighth place before being overtaken by Jack Miller on lap two. He then overtook Miller on lap 9 but struggled to close a 1sec gap to Johann Zarco, gradually stretching away from the riders behind him. During the second half of the race, three riders crashed in Turn 1 in short succession in individual incidents, allowing El Diablo to move up to P4. He defended his position until the end to finish fourth, 18.738sec from the race winner.

Tricky conditions, and our grip wasn’t ideal,” said Quartararo. “Four riders crashed out in front of us so our fourth place isn’t a ‘realistic representation’ of how our race actually went. I didn’t make any mistakes but our lap times weren’t where I wanted them to be since I finished far from the leader.

Rins emerged from the opening corners in P16 but moved up to P15 on lap four when two rivals crashed out ahead of him. It then became a lonely ride, which allowed him to focus on his rhythm. Five more riders crashed out of the race, allowing the Spaniard to finish P10, 39.419sec from first, earning him six Championship points.
