The 2026 Grand Prix of Great Britain was a real test of tire management for Team ENEOS and Fabio Quartararo, who finished the 20-lap contest in P12*. Álex Rins unfortunately was involved in an opening lap incident that ended in an NC result.
“El Diablo was given a 16-second penalty after an issue with the front tire pressure sensor prevented the collection of the mandatory tire-pressure data during the race, dropping him to P16 in the amended Race results”
“I expected a tough race but I wasn’t able to push like I wanted to,” Quartararo said. “The tire consumption was big and gradual, and overall not great for us.”
Starting from P17, Rins settled into that same opening lap position with Joan Mir in Turn 7, resulting in a crash. The Spaniard tried to rejoin the race, but ultimately had to retire to the pits.
“It’s a shame to end with a crash, but I couldn’t avoid Joan [Mir] and went straight to the floor,” Rins said. “We’ll recover and come back strong for Aragon.”
