Kraus Victorious at NASCAR K&N Pro West in Roseburg

For a second straight year, 17 year-old Derek Kraus, pilot of the ENEOS-sponsored Bill McAnally Racing (BMR) #16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry, won the Clint Newell Auto Group/Toyota 150 presented by ENEOS and NAPA AUTO PARTS. This is his third victory of the year and eighth career series win, which helped BMR extend its total win count at the Douglas County Speedway to eight out of nine K&N West races.

“It was a really good NAPA Toyota they prepared for me,” said Kraus. “It was really good on longer runs. It fired off a little tight, but overall once you got 10 or 15 laps on the tires it was really fast. I can’t thank the BMR guys enough!”

While Kraus paced the field throughout the 150-lap event on the tight 3/8-mile track, BMR teammate Brittney Zamora fought hard for position behind him in the #99 ENEOS / NAPA Filters Toyota Camry and took fifth place overall. Starting sixth on the grid, she fell to seventh on the start due to being in the outside line, but battled to the inside on each restart and was able to break into the top five.

CURRENT STANDINGS

Thanks to his Roseburg win, Kraus leads his other BMR teammate, Hailee Deegan by eight points in the championship standings. With three wins, four top-five and six top-10 finishes in seven starts, he leads the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West in points as well as the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship standings.

Zamora currently sits second in rookie points and sixth in overall standings, with one pole, four top-five and five top-10 finishes.
