Kraus Pushes Forward with Top 15 Finish at Homestead NASCAR Truck Round

Continuing onward with his rookie season in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoor Truck Series, Derek Kraus, driver of the McAnally-Hilgemann Racing #19 ENEOS / NAPA Toyota Tundra finished 15th at the Baptist Health 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on June 13, 2020.

Starting seventh on the grid (his best starting spot in the five races this year), Kraus ran among the top 10 throughout most of the race, but had to fight his way back after experiencing problems during a pit stop. A long stop dropped him off the lead lap into 21st position, but he was able to gain a lap back during a caution, and despite struggling with handling late in the game, he battled back to 15th place.

“Our Tundra wasn’t turning in the center of the corner as well as I needed, so it was tough to get going on the restarts,” said Kraus.

For this race, McAnally-Hilgemann Racing placed Adam Martin’s name on the #19 ENEOS / NAPA Tundra to honor this frontline healthcare worker as a Star of Life for his heroic action in saving a cardiac arrest patient on the roof of a mid-rise building.
