Formula DRIFT Announces 2024 Championship Schedule and Series Updates

Following their biggest (and 20th anniversary) season in 2023, Formula DRIFT is ready for the 2024 season to kick off, starting with the PRO Championship at the Streets of Long Beach on April 12-13 and the PROSPEC Championship at Road Atlanta on May 9-11. Team ENEOS will be coming in hot with Fredric Aasbo, Odi Bakchis and Simen Olsen representing in PRO, while Faruk Kugay will be holding it down in PROSPEC.

FORMULA DRIFT 2024 COMPETITION SCHEDULE
ROUND / VENUE DATE
Streets of Long Beach – PRO April 12-13
Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta – PRO, PROSPEC May 9-11
Orlando Speed World – PRO May 31-June 1
Old Bridge Township Raceway Park – PRO, PROSPEC June 20-22
World Wide Technology Raceway – PRO, PROSPEC July 18-20
Evergreen Speedway – PRO August 9-10
Utah Motorsport Campus – PRO, PROSPEC August 29-31
Irwindale Speedway – PRO October 18-19

The biggest news for the 2024 season is the elimination of single-run qualifying in PRO and PROSPEC competition, becoming a tandem-only series from its first runs until the winner’s podium. This is to provide fans and drivers with an even more compelling and entertaining experience, providing all drivers the opportunity to compete in at least one tandem competition run to secure their place in the Top 32 competition heats.

Additional changes for the season include new roles for the 2024 FD Competition Staff roster. Four judges will rotate throughout the year, including regulars Brian Eggert (USA) and Robbie Nishida (Japan) and two new judges: Reese Marin (USA), an experienced driver, instructor, and competition spotter (who most recently served as Chelsea DeNofa’s spotter during his Championship-winning season), and Vernon Zwaneveld (Netherlands), a long-standing judge with the Drift Masters European Championship, who’s also an accomplished stuntman and drift instructor, helping to shape the future of global drifting with his years of firsthand experience.
