Formula DRIFT Round 7 – Showdown went down September 14 – 15 at the Texas Motor Speedway in Dallas.
In the top 32, Dai faced off against Kristaps Bluss and piloted his way to an easy victory in the first race and advanced to the top 16.
During the next heat, Dai went up against Falken teammate Odi Bakchis. Although the race was a little closer, Dai ran two very clean runs and they went on to an OMT after Run 1. In Run 2, Bakchis kept his formation a little tighter, but they were still very close. One judge again called for another OMT, but two voted for Dai, sending him on to the top 8.
For the Great 8, Dai took on James Deane, again another Falken Tires teammate. As dusk fell, Dai succumbed to the smoke screen in his chase. Deane cut through the smoke while following Dai and took the match, advancing to the top four.
“FormulaD Texas was a rough one. There was rain, wind, lightning storms, humidity, heat, and I had to go against two of my @falkentire teammates. But at the end of the day, it was still a great event and I’m looking forward to FD Irwindale.” – Dai Yoshihara
