ENEOS USA and GS.Miatas Form the Ultimate JDM Collaboration
If you haven’t heard of the viral Japanese GS.Miatas social media sensation, you’re about to be schooled. What started out as a simple look at daily life at a family-owned ENEOS gas station has quickly become one of the most popular accounts if you’re seeking authentic JDM content, thanks to their popular POV and “In Japan We Say…” concepts. And since we were going to be in Japan for Tokyo Car Week, we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to work with more of our Japanese ENEOS family.
Following The Chronicles Tokyo pop-up and Tokyo Auto Salon, we took a short bullet train ride to Osaka to meet with the family that operates the ENEOS Senriyama outpost, which is located on the outskirts of the main city. Walking up to the small gas station nestled in a quiet community, the excitement that had built leading up to that point could no longer be contained. We were ready to meet our superstars!
The main husband and wife duo greeted us warmly along with the other staff, and we waited for Joey and Yasu to drop off their Honda Civics so we could get started on the shoot. Once the EG and EK were unloaded, they began to work their magic, filming all the bits for their POV and “In Japan We Say…” videos. We could easily see how much they enjoy creating content for their international audience.
Once finished, the Civics were transported back out and we spent a little time getting to know the ENEOS Senriyama family before parting ways. A really fun experience overall and we look forward to working with them again in the future.
