Aasbo Puts Team ENEOS Back on the Podium at Formula DRIFT Seattle 2026

Following a first-ever cancelled Formula DRIFT round in Indianapolis due to extreme weather, Fredric Aasbo was eager to get back into competition mode only two weeks later with the intention of putting Team ENEOS onto the podium. Back to Evergreen Speedway, an OG track that’s been utilized for 21 of the series’ 23 years, a number of minor changes were made to the course, such as shortening the entry into the first turn by 30 feet, and running in the evening under floodlights, but otherwise it was business as usual.

Aasbo opened with a Top 32 victory over Ken Gushi in the Rockstar Energy Toyota GR Supra and then advanced past Rudy Hansen in the Top 16. In the Great 8, Aasbo defeated fourth-place qualifier Jack Shanahan when the Irish driver over-rotated in the final zone. He earned a close decision over Matt Field in the Final Four to secure his second trip to a Formula Drift Final this season.

Aasbo faced Conor Shanahan in the Final, a rematch of the championship-opening Long Beach event where the pair also met for the win. After two closely matched runs, the judges gave Shanahan the decision.

“It feels good to be fighting at the front,” said Aasbo. “The car ran really strong when it mattered, especially since this is a track where we’re pushing the most power – and ENEOS kept us running all night long into the Finals.”

It was a powerful return to form that reminded everybody the three-time FD PRO Champ can’t be overlooked. Aasbo’s second place in Seattle is his third podium of the 2026 season and pushes him to sixth in the Championship standings.
