The NASCAR SuperTruck Series was born in 1995 and has been through several name changes, including Craftsman Truck Series and Camping World Truck Series before welcoming Gander Outdoors as the title sponsor for 2019. The series serves as a developmental platform for younger drivers looking to step up into one of the national NASCAR series. It includes a diverse range of race tracks, with everything from superspeedways to intermediate ovals, short tracks and a road course.
Although only 17 years old, Derek Kraus returns for a third season with Bill McAnally Racing (BMR) – the most successful team in history in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. He was crowned Rookie of the Year in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West in 2017 and had a very successful 2018 where he scored four victories, five poles and led 717 laps, narrowly missing the championship title.
Derek will have a busy 2019, competing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and driving the #19 ENEOS Toyota Tundra in select NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series events. The truck series is a new venture for the driver from Stratford, WI but he is looking forward to the challenge and the team is confident he is up to the task since Derek has considerable truck racing experience dating back to 2015 when he was the youngest driver to win a Super Truck Series race and the Midwest Truck Series champion.
