This weekend, the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series completed three nights in the Lone Star State. Kyle Larson Racing and Shane Stewart competed at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas Thursday night before heading to the Series’ birthplace, Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, for the two-night of Texas Outlaw Nationals.

KLR kicked off the three nights of racing on Thursday at Cotton Bowl Speedway. Stewart qualified seventh and finished fifth in his heat race. He gained one position in the qualifier to earn the eighth starting spot for the 35-lap feature event. Stewart quickly moved up to seventh and gained another position by lap 15. He maintained the spot in the closing laps to finish in sixth-place.
The following night kicked off the first of two nights at Devil’s Bowl Speedway for the Texas Outlaw Nationals. Stewart earned the second-fastest qualifying lap in time trials and won his heat race from the pole. Stewart started and finished sixth in the Craftsman Club Dash to slot himself on the outside of row three for the 25-lap main event. He slipped back on the initial start and on another restart after a caution flew around the halfway point, resulting in a 10th-place score.
The KLR team wrapped up the weekend in Texas by qualifying third and winning their heat race for the second night in a row and transferring into the Craftsman Club Dash. Stewart got a better draw than the night before and earned the third starting position for the 30-lap Texas Outlaw Nationals finale. He raced as high as second before slipping back one position on a restart to finish third and round out the podium to cap off a solid night.

Saturday night was a great rebound for my DC Solar guys,” said Bixby, Okla., native Stewart. “I can’t thank Lee [Stauffer], Heath [Moyle], Jakob [Weaver] and Paul [Silva] enough for all of the work they continue to put into our No. 2 car. Devil’s Bowl never disappoints, it’s such a unique track and it’s close to my hometown. With our schedule, I don’t get many opportunities to come home or race in front of friends and family, so it was great to have them here this weekend and get a good result.”
