Larson Marks Racing and Shane Stewart competed at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C. on Friday, followed up by Stewart capturing his second win of the season Monday night at Lawrenceburg (Ind.) Speedway in a duel with co-owner, Kyle Larson.
On Friday night at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Stewart qualified fifth and finished second in his heat race. He started and finished fifth in the dash, to earn the fifth-starting position for the main event. After starting on the bottom for the 30-lap feature, Stewart slipped back several positions before gaining one spot back to finish the race in seventh-place.
After two days off, the Larson Marks team headed back to the Hoosier State to compete at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Stewart qualified sixth and won his heat race from the outside of the front row. The Bixby, Okla., native gained three spots in the Craftsman Club Dash to earn the fourth starting spot for the main.
As soon as the green flag waved, Stewart was on the move and quickly jumped to the second running position. He got the lead from Donny Schatz on Lap 7 and the two would race side-by-side until the caution came out on Lap 13. The pilot of the LMR No. 2 regained the lead on the ensuing restart and Larson got a great restart from sixth to advance to fourth and he quickly moved up to the runner-up spot.
Larson Marks Racing co-owner didn’t go easy on his driver though, as the Paul Silva No. 57 of Larson and Stewart’s No. 2 came together battling for the lead in Turn 2. Larson would get by Stewart for a couple of laps as they approached lapped traffic. After Stewart regained the lead from his boss, he was able to put a lapped car between them on the final lap to give himself the separation he needed to win back-to-back at Lawrenceburg Speedway.

“I was actually shocked when he went by me up there, my car felt really good through the middle, but it’s Kyle Larson, what can you say, he’s a great talent. It was definitely a fun race, I always enjoy coming here. My guys always give me a great car. I’ve obviously got to thank Justin [Marks] and Kyle for letting me be the lucky man that gets to drive this No. 2. I’ve got to thank Bob, Heath and Dennis, they do a great job for me and ENEOS, ParkerStore, Rider Engines for supporting us.” – Shane Stewart, on battling with co-owner Larson.
“Man, that was a blast. I hope you fans enjoyed that because that was awesome from my seat. That was one of the most intense sprint car races I’ve ran. I feel like I race Shane harder, it’s always fun racing him. For him to have a couple solid weeks on the Outlaw tour has been great for the team. That was a lot of fun with Shane. I wish I could be out here more often, I feel like I make him get up on the wheel a little bit.” – Kyle Larson, team co-owner and NASCAR driver
