The new Americas Rallycross (ARX) held its inaugural event Saturday, July 14th at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.

Steve Arpin, who finished third overall in Global Rallycross (GRC) last season, is piloting his Ford Focus RSRX 00 in the new ARX league. After finishing 3rd behind the VW Beetles in Q1, the race ended too soon for the 00, which ran into technical issues on Lap 1 of the first six-lap semifinal and was sidelined with a suspension failure. Arpin’s partner Ken Block went on to finish 2nd in the final.

Steve Arpin, with whom ENEOS has previously partnered as he skillfully drove his way to the top of the pack in GRC, announced earlier this year he has teamed with Ken Block and his Hoonigan Racing Division to compete in ARX.

The next round of the ARX Championship takes the series north of the American border to Canada for the Grand Prix de Trois Rivieres, August 4-5. Coverage will be streamed live on the ARX Rallycross Facebook and YouTube pages. DirtFish ARX of COTA will be featured in a one-hour highlights show on CBS Sports Network, Wednesday, July 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT.
