CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 24, 2014) – In his tenth NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) of the 2014 season driving for Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM), Kyle Larson dominated the second half of the race in the No. 42 ENEOS Chevrolet Camaro to earn his second NNS victory this season. After a very strong qualifying session, Larson started today’s race in third position and never fell lower than fifth during the 200-lap race on his way to victory lane.
After starting third, and maintaining a position in the top-five for the first 117 laps of the 200 lap race, Larson managed to pass race leader and Sprint Cup regular Brad Keselowski on Lap 118, and never looked back. Larson led the final 56 laps of the race, with Keselowski and several other NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers firmly planted in his rear-view mirror. The car showed great speed all afternoon, and needed very little adjusting throughout the race.
“The race was about perfect for us,” Larson said following the race. “It was nice looking in the rear-view mirror and seeing them get smaller and smaller each lap. It’s not very often that you see the 22 (Keselowski) and the 54 (Busch) get smaller in your mirror. It just shows how great of a car we had, and what a great job the pit crew did on every stop we had. I’m really happy to get another win for Team Target, and was glad I was able to share the win with some of the Cartwheel team who are here this weekend.”
Larson will race the No. 42 Target Chevy tomorrow in the NSCS Coca-Cola 600 at CMS , which starts at 6 p.m. ET.
